A new set of case studies, looking at the barriers to doing business faced by firms in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, has just been released.

Background

Multiple barriers to doing business in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region have previously been identified in numerous surveys and indices. However, little has been done to date to address these barriers.

To fill this gap, SAIIA, in collaboration with the SADC Secretariat and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), has produced a set of firm-level case studies on major business constraints in the region. These case studies provide tangible, clear examples of what individual businesses have experienced, and point to practical solutions to recurrent constraints.
