SAIIA Western Cape Branch operates in Cape Town and environs to engage the general public, academia, private enterprise, government, non-governmental organisations, parliament and the foreign diplomatic community in discussion on international issues of importance to South Africa.

The Branch runs speaker's meetings (approximately once a month) with local and international speakers on interesting and topical international issues. The Branch runs the annual SAIIA Interschools Quiz for high school learners and also a careers evening for university students.
