South African Yearbook of International Affairs
The South African Yearbook of International Affairs, first published in 1996, is widely accepted as an important forum for debate on South Africa’s international relations. Increasingly, the yearbook also focuses on issues as they pertain to the African continent as a whole. The yearbook provides a unique compendium of statistical and analytical information relevant to foreign policy analysts, decision makers, academics, business people and the media alike.
SAIIA Policy Briefings
SAIIA Policy Briefings are intended for use by policymakers, whether in government or business. They are concise, providing a brief analysis of the issue at hand, and make policy recommendations. Included among these are various historical briefings produced by SAIIA, including China in Africa Policy Briefs and Trade Policy Briefings.
SAIIA Occasional Papers
SAIIA Occasional Papers are pieces of analytical work exploring particular issues. The focus of these papers is not overtly policy-related, although policymakers should find the detail useful.
SAIIA Research Reports
SAIIA Research Reports are fairly lengthy analytical papers, usually reflecting on and analysing the findings of field research. Included among these are various historical report series', such as the Business in Africa series, the Trade Policy Report series, and the Parliaments of the South report series.
Diplomatic Pouch
The Diplomatic Pouch is a regular online column presenting opinion pieces written by SAIIA staff and researchers. These articles are intended to highlight current issues and trends in international affairs.
