Held in Paris each May to coincide with the annual OECD Ministerial Council Meeting, the OECD Forum is a major international stakeholder summit.

In 2014, SAIIA is proud to be an official knowledge partner for the Forum. Leaders from all sectors of civil society gather to debate the most pressing social and economic challenges confronting society. Since its creation in 2000, more than 18,000 people have already exchanged ideas and experiences. This year’s theme is ‘Resilient economies for inclusive societies’. Follow this link to the OECD website for more on the programme.

About the OECD

The mission of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.

It provides a forum in which governments can work together to share experiences and seek solutions to common problems. The Organisation works with governments to understand what drives economic, social and environmental change, measuring productivity and global flows of trade and investment. To do so, the OECD also analyses and compares data to predict future trends, and sets international standards on a wide range of things, from agriculture and tax to the safety of chemicals.
