Some private sector tax evaders identified by SARS, says Gordhan

South African Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan this week gave a keynote address at the South African Institute of International Affairs and the University of Pretoria’s Second Annual African G20 Conference, themed “The G20 and Africa’s Economic Growth and Transformation”, in Rosebank, Johannesburg, on November 11 2013.

The Minister said at the event that the South African Revenue Service has already noted a number of cases of wealthy individuals who are not paying their fair share of tax. He was responding to questions regarding South Africa’s progress on recent G20 declarations to embrace the G8 and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s efforts to counter tax evasion.
