Global and African Best Practice
The Global and African Best Practice project, funded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, began in 2003 and has been completed. It identified and analysed global best practice in key areas necessary for the successful implementation of the New Partnership For Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
The project was divided into two stages: the first included the research and writing of a number of country-specific and cross-cutting research papers; the second focused on the applicability of these lessons and experiences across African states and their relevance to Nepad. Selected themes included the following: education and skills development; small and medium enterprises; external engagement and diplomacy; agriculture; high-tech industrialisation and corporate governance. Elizabeth Sidiropoulos headed the project and Nandile Ngubentombi was the researcher.
