Background: Henning Snyman has an Honours degree (cum laude) in Politics from the University of Johannesburg and a Master’s degree (cum laude) in Policing, Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism from Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia). Prior to joining SAIIA in May 2011, Henning lectured in the Department of Politics & International Relations at Macquarie University, focusing on the link between underdevelopment, conflict and global structural violence. Previously, Henning worked for 15 years in the risk assessment and management business, and he has cultivated a strong contact base across the African continent. His research interests include South African foreign policy, strategic studies, and security issues.
