Achieving the ambitious targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 2030 Agenda requires a revitalised global partnership that brings together governments, civil society, the private sector, the United Nations system and other actors, and mobilises all available resources.

SDG 17 elaborates on the partnerships, financing and cooperation arrangements between states required to achieve all the other SDGs. In order to achieve the ambitious 2030 Agenda there is an urgent need to strengthen data for improved development planning, and transparency and accountability of development finance.

Our senior researcher Dr Neissan Besharati will be leading our delegation to the UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development this year and, together with other chapters of the Network of Southern Think Tanks, will host a side event to unpack these challenges.
