The 2017 OECD Economic Survey of South Africa and Key Challenges for South Africa and the Region

The South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA), in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), cordially invites you to a public address on 'The 2017 OECD Economic Survey of South Africa and Key Challenges for South Africa and the Region' with an address by Mr Angel Gurría, OECD Secretary-General.

The OECD Secretary-General, Mr Angel Gurría, will visit South Africa from 24-25 July 2017 for the launch of the 2017 OECD Economic Survey of South Africa, which is jointly organised with South Africa’s National Treasury.

In the context of this visit, SAIIA is pleased to organise with the OECD a public seminar on 24 July, which will be opened by the OECD Secretary-General. Mr Gurría will share his perspectives on the importance of globalisation that delivers for people in an interconnected world, as recently affirmed at the 2017 OECD Ministerial Meeting and at the G20 Summit.

Following the Opening Remarks, OECD senior officials will present the 2017 OECD Economic Survey and address key challenges facing South Africa and the region, and address how the work of the OECD can benefit South Africa, as a key partner of the OECD, and the wider region.
