SAIIA's Western Cape Branch invites you to a public seminar to be addressed by Ambassador Dr. Hisham AL-ALAWI, Embassy of Iraq, Pretoria, on “Building a stable and prosperous democracy in Iraq: Progress and Challenges”.

Speaker Biography

Dr Hisham Al-Alawi has been Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of South Africa, 15th April 2011 to date.  Previously he held the post of the New Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iraq (Head of Policy Planning Department). He was a consultant Physician with interest in Diabetes & Endocrinology, at hospitals in the UK. He is married with 3 children.
