The South African Institute of International Affairs, Western Cape Branch, invites you to a public seminar to be addressed by Benjamin Pogrund. He will be speaking on "Is Israel the New Apartheid?" at The Centre for the Book, 62 Queen Victoria Street, Gardens, Cape Town, on Monday 29 August 2011 at 5:00 for 5:30 pm

Benjamin Pogrund was born in Cape Town, is a graduate of UCT and Wits, was the deputy editor of Rand Daily Mail, then chief foreign sub-editor of The Independent, London, and editor of The WorldPaper, Boston. He has been living in Jerusalem for past 14 years. He is the founder and director of Yakar Center for Social Concern in Jerusalem. Benjamin is the author of books about Robert Sobukwe, Nelson Mandela and the press under apartheid, and co-editor of 'Shared Histories: A Palestinian- Israeli Dialogue'. He is currently the Visiting Fellow at Kaplan Centre, UCT, and writing a book about Israel and apartheid.

Entrance for non-members is R30 or R15 on presentation of a current student identity card.

Parking is freely available behind the building after 5pm.
