Space is limited and this is a closed event, so please respondThe African Peer Review Mechanism was established in 2003, and has become the most important governance promotion initiative on the African continent.  To date, 29 states have voluntarily acceded, and 12 countries have passed through all stages of the initial review process, and are implementing their National Programmes of Action. New members of the Panel of Eminent Persons were announced at the recent APR Forum meeting in Addis Ababa. What then is the state of the mechanism at this time, how should civil society organisations engage with the process, and what does the future hold?
